I submitted my latest short story “Food Hoarding in Animals” to McSweeney’s for possible publication. The website states that the review time is anywhere from a few weeks to nine months, so I’ve essentially dropped my story into a vast limbo. However, I couldn’t think of a better place to submit it, and it will give me something to look forward to while I work on my next big thing.
Of the story, my professor called it a “substantial accomplishment.” That’s probably the nicest and most meaningful compliment anyone has ever given my writing. Finger’s crossed!
